RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS
AND GOOD GOVERNANCE

At U Mobile, we work hard to maintain accountability and integrity in what we do, guided by good governance practices which apply to all at U Mobile and also our partners.

 

We also have robust whistleblowing channels and comply with all regulatory requirements while maintaining dialogue and participation in industry programmes, like JENDELA.

Environmental Responsibility

We actively look for ways to balance growth with energy efficiencies, such as modernising legacy network equipment, as well as opting for solar panel installations at our TOCs and on site, wherever appropriate. We have successfully kept our power usage efficiency at TOCs below the target of 1.8 in 2023 and 2024. Other notable initiatives that we embarked on include consumer e-waste collection at our stores, and the launch of our half-sized SIM card.

Workforce and Communities

Our workforce is the core of our business, so we nurture and develop them through internal engagements, relevant trainings, and professional growth support. We positively impact communities through projects that align with our sustainability priorities and national agenda, covering areas such as digital inclusion, youth development, digital economy, and even sports.​

Digitalisation and Innovation

Through technology and constant innovation, we aim to help communities and businesses benefit from the transformative power of connectivity. Through use cases, proof-of-concepts and live trials, we set remarkable milestones in 2023 and 2024, such as achieving Malaysia’s fastest mobile speeds at 30.8Ggbps, powered by 5G-A.​
