How do I purchase and subscribe to a prepaid plan using online channels?

To purchase the Prepaid plan, subscribers must:

 

i. Login to any participating Online Channels

ii. Select the Prepaid plans that you wish to subscribe

iii. Key in mobile number and make the necessary payment

iv. A confirmation SMS will be sent by U Mobile to you to confirm successful subscription.

Which prepaid plans are offered on the online channels?

Weekly Plan: GX12
Monthly Plans: GX30, UMI30, UMI36, UMI50, GT30, GX38

 

What happens if I purchase a different data plan (Eg. If you have an existing UMI 50, and want to purchase UMI 30)?

If you are already subscribed to an existing data or call plan, any purchase of a new Prepaid plan will override the existing data or call plan. Any unused quota or minutes will be forfeited.


Eg. Any unused quota and minutes for existing UMI 50 will be forfeited when UMI 30 is purchased. You will only be entitled to the allocated data and minutes of the latest UMI purchased.

What happens if my subscription fails?

2 scenarios here:

  • If payment is received yet verification fails, the bank will send a refund to the customers' bank account in 3 business days. 
  • In case, at any point of time, the subscription fails due to unforeseen circumstances, the customer's account will be auto-credited with the top up amount and is advised to subscribe manually via U Mobile’s mobile app, UMB 118 or SMS.

 

Is there any difference from purchasing a prepaid plan via online banking/e-wallet channels compared to other channels?

Online channel – only 1 step required which is purchase and subscription will be done automatically from backend.


Other channels – 2 steps required which is purchase top up and subscribe to the plan manually by subscribers.

Will I be notified of my successful subscription?

Yes. You will receive an SMS notification on your subscription status. Alternatively, u may check via UMB 118 or U Mobile’s mobile app on the plan u purchased.

Are there any differences about products subscribed via online channels versus using the U Mobile’s mobile app/UMB?

There are no differences. The plan’s offering will be identical. You may refer to U Mobile’s website ie. https://www.u.com.my/plans/prepaid/unlimited-mobile-internet or https://www.u.com.my/plans/gilerunlimited/prepaid

 

If I’m from overseas and I want to purchase a prepaid plan for my family/friends in Malaysia, can I do it using online channels?

Yes. You can purchase the Prepaid plan for your family/friends via online channels.

 

Which online channels are available for purchasing a prepaid plan?

Please stay tuned to our U Mobile’s website for the announcement of the list of online channels that will be offering this service from time to time.

Can I purchase the Prepaid plan for non-Malaysian?

Non-Malaysians are not eligible for this. They will need to top up & subscribe manually by dialling *118# or MyUMobile app.

If I’m subscribing to a Prepaid plan for a 3rd party, do I need consent?

If you are subscribing to a Prepaid plan for a third party, you are solely responsible to inform the third party that you are subscribing to the Prepaid plan on behalf of him. U Mobile will not be responsible for any complaints made by the third party.

Do I need to subscribe again the following month should I wish to continue the data plan?

 

 

Your subscription will be auto-renewed (subject to minimum balance in your prepaid account to renew your UMI plan) based on your 1st service activation date. You will receive SMS notifications 2 days and 1 day before your auto-renewal is due, and another SMS when your subscription is renewed.

If my subscription has lapsed, can I still purchase the plan via online channels?

Yes you can purchase the plan via all the participating online channels.

I am currently on a postpaid plan with an active contract. Can I sign up for iPhone @ RM48 Promotion?

Yes, you can. But the existing rate plan will be terminated as it is still bonded to an active contract. You will be liable for any charges, you must also settle all outstanding charges and ETP (early termination payment) applies, under the existing rate plan before the subscriber can proceed to sign up for iPhone @ RM48 Promotion.

What kind of savings can I get when I buy any Apple iPhone model with iPhone @ RM48 Promotion?

You will enjoy attractive savings from low instalment payments as the total amount paid throughout the tenure is still much lower than the Recommended Retail Price (RRP) of the phone model upon signing up for iPhone @ RM48 Promotion. Furthermore, you will also be enjoying a 0% interest instalment payment throughout the instalment tenure.

What if I want to cancel my iPhone @ RM48 Promotion or make a full settlement a few months after signing up for iPhone @ RM48 Promotion?

Do I need to pay any advance fees?

The advance fee will be waived if you fulfill the advance fee waiver criteria (determined by U Mobile) during your registration for this campaign. Eligibility for the advance fee waiver is solely at U Mobile’s discretion.

What is 5G Rahmah Incentive for Media Practitioner?

5G Rahmah Incentive for Media Practitioner is a postpaid plan phone bill rebate offer for media practitioners for their September 2023 bill. This incentive is a one-off grant specifically for media practitioners in conjunction with Malaysia Day. 

Who is eligible to receive the 5G Rahmah Incentive for Media Practitioner?

The 5G Rahmah Incentive for Media Practitioner is open to media practitioners with Malaysian citizens who hold a Media Certificate Card issued by the Department of Information Malaysia (JaPen) that is not expired and having an active postpaid plan subscription with U Mobile.

This CreditSOS Automated Subscription Campaign period will start from 14 October 2024 to 11 November 2024 (28 days).

Who can participate in the CreditSOS Automated Subscription Campaign?

The CreditSOS Automated Subscription Campaign is open to all U Mobile Prepaid subscribers who is not an existing CreditSOS Automated Subscriber prior to Campaign launched date.
