The upfront payment is applicable to all new line registrations, as well as Switch to U services and rate plan changes that are not eligible for the upfront payment waiver.

The amount you have to pay will vary depending on your chosen rate plan and device model.
For existing customers who meet the eligibility criteria, the upfront payment will be waived upon registration. To check if the upfront payment waiver is available to you, log in to the U Mobile Online Store or visit your nearest U Mobile store.
Contract freedom means you can terminate your service at any time. However, if you terminate or downgrade your current plan, or change to another rate plan before your commitment period expires, the following will apply:
- For customers who have paid the upfront payment (not entitled to the upfront payment waiver), your remaining monthly rebate subsidy will be forfeited.
- For customers who are entitled to the upfront payment waiver, you will be required to refund the balance of the device subsidy amount (upfront payment). The device subsidy balance will be calculated as per the following:
- Subsidy amount (upfront payment) / commitment period x remaining number of months. The remaining number of months will include the month during which you terminated the service.
- For example, if you have subscribed to a U Postpaid 98 plan with any device, and you terminate on the 7th month, you are required to refund RM600 / 24 months x 18 months = RM450.
Yes, you can make payment instalments via Easy Payment Plan (EPP) with no additional fees and 0% interest rate for your U SaveMore device subscription. This payment method allows you to make a transaction with your credit card, then you will need to repay the transaction amount via instalments over the period of your chosen bank’s instalment tenure.
